A catch-all mailbox is one that collects all the email messages sent to invalid email addresses. For example, if your email address is info@domain.com, but somebody miswrites it and sends a message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have set up. Only one mailbox per domain can have this feature enabled and in this way you will never miss emails because the other party has an outdated email address or has made a typo. The downside of using a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving plenty of unsolicited email messages, but this issue can be solved using an anti-spam filtering solution. It is also crucial to know that a mailbox with an active catch-all feature cannot forward inbound messages to a 3rd-party email address.

Catch-all Emails in Website Hosting

Creating a catch-all email mailbox will be truly easy in case you’ve got a website hosting with us. You can enable this option through our advanced, albeit intuitive Email Manager tool, which is an indivisible part of the Hepsia Control Panel, via which you will manage your hosting account. You’ll find all the email addresses that you’ve set up enumerated alphabetically and on the right-hand side of each one there will be a small-size "Catch-all" icon, which will immediately inform you if a specific mailbox gets all the email messages for a certain domain or not. With one mouse click on the icon you can enable or disable this feature at any moment. In case there is activated email forwarding or if some other mailbox has already been set up as a catch-all one for a specific domain name, you’ll get a warning notification from our system. The latter will not deactivate/replace anything automatically or without your approval.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

The custom-created Hepsia Control Panel that is included with each and every semi-dedicated server plan that we offer will permit you to set up a catch-all mailbox with ease even if you don’t have much web/email hosting experience. All it takes to do that is to click the catch-all icon, which will be next to each mailbox that you have set up with your domains in the Control Panel’s Email Manager section. As you can have only one single mailbox with this feature per domain name, our system will inform you if you have already set up another catch-all mailbox or if the one that you would like to use has email forwarding activated. In case you reach the decision that you don’t need the feature anymore, you can deactivate it by clicking once again on the very same icon. The Email Manager section will also permit you to see your catch-all mailboxes at a glance.
